[Tom Coates](http://www.plasticbag.org/?ref=onemanandhisblog.com) has posted an essay based on a speech he gave at a recent [Six Apart](http://www.sixapart.com/?ref=onemanandhisblog.com) event. It’s entitled [The Horseless Carriage…](http://www.plasticbag.org/archives/2005/04/the%5Fhorseless%5Fcarriage.shtml?ref=onemanandhisblog.com):
