One of the ways that blogging complements traditional news is the way it can give you a real insight into the reality of people’s experience. Take this story of [a farm being submerged](http://www.farmingfriends.com/farm-flooded/?ref=onemanandhisblog.com) by the deluge of the last couple of days, which I picked up while [doing the rounds](http://www.fwi.co.uk/blogs/rural-life/2007/06/flood-damage.html?ref=onemanandhisblog.com) of our blogs.

It doesn’t take much effort to find multiple [examples](http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=13143625&blogID=281169092&ref=onemanandhisblog.com) [of](http://tallguywrites.livejournal.com/74603.html?ref=onemanandhisblog.com) [eyewitness](http://sleepingeyes.blogspot.com/2007/06/fancy-swim.html?ref=onemanandhisblog.com) [accounts](http://anenglishcottagegarden.blogspot.com/2007/06/flood-and-severe-weather-warnings-in.html?ref=onemanandhisblog.com). In light of the fallout around the “[digital doorstepping](http://www.onemanandhisblog.com/archives/2007/04/theres%5Fno%5Fdoubt%5Fthat%5Fthe.html?ref=onemanandhisblog.com)” business around Virginia Tech, just republishing these accounts would be an error, but providing links to eyewitness accounts and experiences much be a vlaubale addition for readers for very little journalistic time.
