As Press Gazette is reporting, [Reed Business Information is officially for sale](http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/story.asp?sectioncode=1&storycode=40353&c=1&ref=onemanandhisblog.com). We no longer fit with Reed Elsevier’s business model. So, [RBI is for sale](http://www.reed-elsevier.com/index.cfm?articleid=2199&ref=onemanandhisblog.com).

Quite what this means in the long term? No idea. For now, it’s business as usual…

\*\*Update: \*\*One of my colleagues from Flight has posted about the news on [Unusual Attitude](http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/unusual-attitude/2008/02/unusual-attitude-is-for-sale.html?ref=onemanandhisblog.com).

**Update 2:** Another colleague describes how [she discovered the news](http://www.icis.com/blogs/icis-chemicals-confidential/files/2008/02/reed-elseviers-unwanted-child.html?ref=onemanandhisblog.com):

> *A bright crisp dawn was breaking as I took my seat on the early London*
> *train today to catch the opening of the ICIS Base Oils conference,*
> *switched on my Blackberry and read that our parent company was selling*
> *us off.*
