# The Computer Weekly IT Blog Awards

This is the second year that we’ve run these, and the first that we’ve actually had an awards night at the end, I believe. And what good fun it was. Drinks, chat, [CW web editor James Garner](http://www.computerweekly.com/blogs/editors-blog/2009/11/computerweeklys-blog-awards-ce.html?ref=onemanandhisblog.com) in full-on Bruce Forsyth mode, and [Leila Gilley](http://swanification.com/?ref=onemanandhisblog.com), our newly-appointed community manager for *[Estates Gazette](http://www.estatesgazette.com/?ref=onemanandhisblog.com)* (pictured above with Brucie James), snagging one of the awards for her site [Girls’n’Gadgets.](http://www.girlsngadgets.com/2009/11/26/girls-n-gadgets-wins-an-award/?ref=onemanandhisblog.com)

I think it was particularly satisfying for me, because for the first time I really saw the multi-pronged blog strategy in, as it were, the flesh. We had CW journalists \[who\](http://www.computerweekly.com/blogs/witsend/) \[blog\](http://www.computerweekly.com/blogs/inspect-a-gadget/) there, alongside industry experts who \[we got blogging\](http://www.computerweekly.com/blogs/david\_lacey/) for the first time on the site, along with skilled existing bloggers who have come into the fold, including social technologist \[Suw Charman-Anderson\](http://suw.org.uk/), who has taken over \[The Social Enterprise blog\](http://www.computerweekly.com/blogs/enterprise-social-software/) (as per my \[rather cryptic post\](http://www.onemanandhisblog.com/archives/2009/11/valedictory\_post\_but\_not\_here.html)) and \[Hermione Way\](http://techfluff.tv/), who’s using her video skills on the new \[Computer Geekly videos\](http://www.computerweekly.com/Articles/2009/11/24/239416/Video-Computer-Geekly-Weekly-IT-News-roundup.htm).

Only took us three years to get there…
