For the first time in a little while, I caught the train from Shoreham-by-Sea to London for a day at Procter Street. That gave me the chance to catch up on my RSS feeds, and here’s a few things of note:

- [A good week for journalism, a bad week for journalism](http://itsdevelopmental.com/2011/a-good-week-for-journalism-a-bad-week-for-journalism/?ref=onemanandhisblog.com) – one former colleague gives a timely reminder of the important, long-term reporting done by [another](http://blogs.computerworlduk.com/the-tony-collins-blog/?ref=onemanandhisblog.com). We need to talk more about the good things done by journalists at the moment…

- [A Sobering Look at Apple](http://www.informationweek.com/byte/news/personal-tech/smart-phones/231001287?ref=onemanandhisblog.com) – this column looked like a typical piece of anti-Apple linkbait. It made me think worse of the reborn *Byte*. The *Byte* editor, Gina Smith, apparently agreed, and has apologised for publication of the article. Wonderful transparency and directness. Love it.
