*The Guardian* has [killed its Facebook social reader](http://gigaom.com/2012/12/13/guardian-kills-its-facebook-social-reader-regains-control-over-its-content/?ref=onemanandhisblog.com) – which is interesting, given that it appeared to be something of a political hot potato inside the company, with some people very keen to have control of it.

Kudos to all involved for trying something new, though, even if it ultimately failed.
