# Medium makes publications more prominent in its apps

Medium is making Publications, its approach to creating “websites” within the platform, [much more prominent in its apps](https://blog.medium.com/a-new-home-for-your-favorite-publications-in-the-medium-app-289443747d42?ref=onemanandhisblog.com#.40dnb9r17):

It seems that Medium has finally chosen to be a platform over a publisher – and this is a nice step to making it more compelling.
