Video Cameras in the House

I find it interesting that, while many journalists try to convince me that we should be pushing towards better and better video kit (where better = more expensive and complicated), many pros are going in the opposite direction.
For example, the [season finale of *House* is being shot on a Canon 5D digital SLR camera](http://philipbloom.co.uk/2010/04/10/house-season-finale-shot-entirely-with-canon-5dmkii/).
Amazon will [sell you one](http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-Digital-SLR-Camera-Mark/dp/B001E97GIK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1271262216&sr=8-1) of those for £1,700. That’s pretty cheap for a TV camera – and you can shoot magazine quality stills with it, too…
